Just typed a simple text note. File size 2.9KB. Copy and paste into Word. File size 131KB. That’s 45 times larger! (Better not trust Microsoft with my overdraft; or is this really why we had a banking crisis - they were all using Microsoft Excel.)

Sky has bought O2 / Be’s broadband business.

Be had a great reputation for their broadband service. I assume that’s why O2 bought them a few years ago when O2 wanted to get a piece of that market - easier to buy a successful (relatively small) established provider and expand on that than trying to start from scratch.

However this has now it’s been sold on to Sky, and I really don’t want to be part of their empire. Time to go looking for another provider.

A while ago I had a clear-out of a whole mass of internet stuff. Original Facebook and YouTube channels went, Foursquare, some BlogTV stuff, Photobucket… Some things have gone naturally; DailyBooth, Stickam…

That did cut out a lot of dormant accounts and older stuff, but what appeared to be fun and seemed to work well 3 or 4 years ago has in reality not been a great success (fun at the time, but…) so thought about killing off my current Facebook and YouTube channels. (As much as I like to think that I don’t care about the number (or lack) of views, when videos have been up for some months and only have half a dozen views then you know you are not doing it right, so time to move on.)

However a few videos do seem to be getting some views, so the channels stay (and will continue to be updated). However definitely need to do something with Facebook, so time for a cull of most of those contacts who I don’t interact with (time for a cut-back on Skype, Twitter and YT subscriptions too).

However if I do zap anyone who wants to remain an ‘Internet Friend’ (in any big cull there are going to be mistakes - sorry) then throw in a fresh Friend request.

Just had an e-mail from them reminding me that they are closing. I was never a huge Stickam user but there were one or two channels I used to keep an eye on.
